Solar Power & Electronics Bench

Small solar panels wired to motors in Lincoln Park, and the cars they drove running loose across the deck and the basketball court.
We had good fun hooking up small solar panels to LEDs, motors with wheels, and some simple voltmeters. Some folks made little improvised ‘solar cars’ out of cardboard, and a bit of a race ensued on the basketball court. We also hooked up larger solar panels to a ‘nibbler’ — a sheet-cutting attachment for a 12V drill — which let us cut nice shapes out of cardboard. Looking forward to learning more about solar charging at the next one.
